Pirate Box

PirateBox is a self-contained mobile collaboration and file sharing device. Simply turn it on to transform any space into a free and open file sharing network.

Gotta love flash mob’s, even if it was to promote a telecoms company

Free disk imaging software

The software is designed as a complete backup solution, but the free edition handles disk imaging and cloning better than any other free software I can find.

  • Save raw/compressed disk images to any drive(usb and network inc).
  • Disk image can be created whilst Windows is in use. A special driver ensures that the disk image represents an exact point in time and will not be affected by disk access that may occur during the backup process.
  • System files such as ‘pagefile.sys’ and ‘hiberfil.sys’ are not included in the image. This reduces the final backup file size.
  • Create a bootable CD to restore to a new disk.
  • Resize the restored partition
  • Quick and very simple to use

With the full version ($39.99) you can backup individual folders, enable sequential backups and more. But the imaging capabilities in the free edition are what makes this software so good.
